MaryAlice Coelho, DACM, LAc. is a licensed acupuncturist who is passionate about helping you reach your optimal health. She obtained her DACM, Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, in 2018 from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego.
Some of her clinical experience includes interning at the UCSD Cancer Research Institute in Encinitas, where she provided acupuncture treatments to help manage chemotherapy and radiation symptoms. She served the community, in collaboration with UCSD medical students, at the UCSD Free Clinic Project, by providing acupuncture and education to patients. And she managed pain and complex medical conditions for underserved senior citizens at the Free Acupuncture Clinic For Seniors.
In 2016, she studied in China at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The 120-hour program consisted of clinical practice in the hospital setting, including the departments of Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Tuina and TCM Internal Medicine.
MaryAlice is a big advocate for preventative health. In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine, she offers lifestyle and nutritional recommendations to help you feel your best! She believes the body is capable of healing itself and simply wants to guide you and your body into a balanced and harmonious state. If she’s not in the office, you can probably find her at the beach or in the garden.
